How to download GBWhatsApp

To use this MOD, the first thing to do is to download and install the APK file. If you do not know how to do it, follow these steps:

1. Download the APK from the green Download button at the top of this page.
2. Tap the green Download button again on the next page.
3. Look for the APK in your downloads folder or access it from your device's notifications or browser history.

The process is quite straightforward. You can also download GBWhatsApp from its official website, but there is constant confusion regarding which is the original website, so we recommend you download it from Malavida.

How to install GBWhatsApp

To install the app, you must first download the APK file from Malavida. Once you have it, do the following:

1. If you have never installed an APK, start by enabling the “Unknown sources” option in your device's Settings > Apps menu.
2. Access the downloaded file from the Android notification bar, then tap the Install button at the bottom right corner. If you accidentally closed the notification, you can locate the APK in your downloads folder.

How to register in GBWhatsApp

The MOD's registration process is the same as that of WhatApp. In other words, you must enter your phone number, confirm your identity through the SMS sent to your smartphone, and select a user name.

Optionally, you can choose a profile picture and whether you want to upload the information stored in a backup. This way, you can upload your chats and other personal information to the MOD.

How to transfer WhatsApp chats to GBWhatsApp

To move WhatsApp chats to the MOD, you must first create a backup in the original app. To do so, go to Settings > Chats > Backup.

Once you have an updated backup, you must uninstall WhatsApp without deleting its data. This is very important because we still need access to the backup.

Now, use whatever file explorer you have installed on your device to find the WhatsApp folder inside your smartphone's storage. The path may change from one smartphone to another, but generally, you must go to Android > media > com.whatsapp. There you will find a folder called WhatsApp. Change its name to gbwhatsapp.

Then, install the MOD. During the configuration process do not use the Reset button that appears at startup. Continue entering the requested data until you see a message indicating Backup found. Now, tap on Restore and wait for your data to load.

How to update GBWhatsApp

Not sure how to update an outdated GBWhatsApp? If you already have the MOD installed and want to download the latest GBWhatsApp update, you can delete the current app and repeat all the download and installation steps. Another option to get the latest version of WhatsApp GB is to follow these steps from the MOD:

1. Open the version of the MOD you already have installed.
2. Tap on the three dots icon in the upper right corner of the interface.
3. Choose the GB Setting option, highlighted in red in some of the most recent versions.
4. Go to the Updates option. The application will automatically check to see if there is a new version available and will proceed with the download.
5. From here, repeat the steps described in the download and installation sections.

Is GBWhatsApp safe to use? Can I get banned?

The version we offer at Malavida is virus and malware-free, as all files hosted on our servers are automatically scanned by a web service that works with over 50 different antivirus programs. However, even if it does not contain malware, we cannot say that this MOD is 100% safe. Because this is an application created by a third party, there are two reasons that prevent us from being able to say this with complete certainty:

1. We know that conversations held through MOD are stored on WhatsApp Messenger's official servers, but it cannot be verified that they are not also hosted on other intermediary servers unrelated to Meta, so the privacy of the messages and our cybersecurity could be compromised. This is in addition to the loss of the end-to-end encryption feature.
2. By using GBWhatsApp, you are violating the company's terms of service. Therefore, there is always a possibility that you may be banned from the service for some time or forced to switch back to the official client. The issue of bans is a recurring problem in WhatsApp MODs, and while one of the latest MOD versions has a supposed anti-ban feature, we can't be sure that it works 100%. There have been instances where users have been temporarily suspended from the service for utilizing this application.

Where is the GBWhatsApp backup stored?

The GBWhatsApp app backup is saved locally. In other words, in the device storage. Unlike the official version, in the MOD, you cannot link the application to your Google account, so you can't save chats to Google Drive. Luckily, this backup is compatible with the official version of WhatsApp, so you can take your chats to the Meta app if you wish.

How to recover GBWhatsApp messages

To recover GBWhatsApp messages, you must first make a backup copy. To do so, tap the three dots button and follow this path: Settings > Chats > Backup > Save.

These chats are stored in the local storage and can be retrieved by reinstalling or restarting the app during the configuration process. When the interface asks us if we want to restore the information, we must say no and wait for a message indicating that a backup copy with the data has been found. Once restored we will have our messages and conversations in GBWhatsApp.

How to hide the “online” status in GBWhatsApp

The function to hide the “online” status is already integrated into WhatsApp. To activate it in GBWhatsApp, tap the three dots button and follow this route: Settings > Privacy > Latest time and Online. Within this menu, choose Nobody and then Same as the last time

However, if you do this, you will also not be able to see the “online” status of others. Luckily, the MOD offers us an alternative: freeze the information in the “last viewed” section, so that it hides your online status (or masks it with a fake one) while still allowing you to see the status of other users. To access this option, follow this route: GB Setting > Privacy and Security > Freeze Last Seen. Just tap the button to activate the function and then restart the app.

How to remove ads from GBWhatsApp

If you have already used MOD, you will have noticed that it includes some advertisements and banner ads. It used to offer us tasks to remove ads, but the latest versions no longer have this option. Moreover, the app does not even include an option to pay to remove the ads.

If these ads annoy you, you can use the trick to remove ads from any game or app on Android via root and a third-party app (such as Lucky Patcher). This has its risks, since rooting a phone, apart from being a somewhat complex process, can lead to the loss of the device's warranty.

How to change the GBWhatsApp icon

Although this MOD is equipped with a store featuring 100 free themes, it is impossible to change its icon natively. However, we can use an external app, such as X Icon Changer, to do so.

Another alternative to change the GBWhatsApp icon would be to use a tool to hide applications. These apps usually disguise those applications that we want to hide and, therefore, change their icon to make it more difficult to identify them. Of course, you will have to stick to the customization options offered by each app.

Why GBWhatsApp does not work

Some of the main reasons why this app stopped working include:

• You have no internet connection via wifi or smartphone data.
• The app is not updated to the latest version.
• You have activated the Android airplane mode or battery-saving mode.
• WhatsApp developers have banned you for using a MOD.
• You have not granted the necessary permissions.
